Do’s and Don’ts

Before we dive into the process of dealing with flood damages for your car, let’s go over a few points to keep in mind during floods!

  • Do not turn on the ignition or attempt to push start the car if it is stuck in the water. It can cause a short-circuit in the electrical system of the car.
  • Do not crank the engine in a flooded area even when the water subsides.
  • Disconnect the car’s battery and get the car towed to a garage after the water recedes.
  • Ask the mechanic to rust-proof your car at the garage
  • Check the brakes for proper functioning. The brakes might get affected by the flood water if it enters the brake lines, discs, or pads.
  • Check for the radiator fan motor’s proper working.
