“We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” Are you making any travel plans recently? Do you know what comes handy when you’re planning your next bon voyage? Checklists!
We all should make checklists and to do lists before going anywhere new. It keeps us on track, and takes that extra pressure off of our shoulders. Worrying about things never solves them, so use this list to take that stress off from your back, and get packing!
OFCOURSE, PACKING
This must be the most important thing on your checklist, but often overlooked on the pretext of 3/‘how to do it right.’ Let us make things easy for you, pack only a few pairs of undies, two sets of socks, and a few clothes that you’ll really need. Oh, you’re going to say, ‘now you sound like my mom.’ But, have you tried packing things the Konmari way? Folding is an art. Learn it from Konmari then you’ll never have to wonder about how many things to pack and packing right. But remember, Konmari’s technique can only help you to pack right, not light. So, just go listen to your mom on what things you do really need to take on bon voyage with you.
Packing light doesn’t make travelling easier, it also helps you avoid extra hidden costs on the airlines, custom duties and while using local transport. Also, don’t forget to check the weather of the place you’re off to, and pack accordingly.
CREATE A QUICK TO-DO LIST
Believe me you’re going to need a to-do list. We all get anxious if we’re wandering far away from home, and then we sometimes realize that we left the passport sitting on the bed in a hurry, and the plants aren’t watered and we didn’t leave our keys to the neighbors to feed our cat.
Don’t be an anxious Anne. Go make a clear checklist to tick some things off.
- Charger- Done.
- Passport- Packed.
- Trivago- Booked.
- Cat- Fed.
- Doors- Locked.
- Replace a Garage Door
There are many great companies like garage door companies in Oregon providing inexpensive overhead garage doors in Portland, Oregon. Service providers such as these make it easy for the garage door replacements.
In case you cannot replace the complete garage doors then garage door repair services are also available. These services make it accessible for you to improve your garage doors as per your interest.
Leave your stress at home and go on that adventure that your heart needed so badly. Remember, not all who wander are lost.
BUY INSURANCES
Nobody tells you about the extra hassles that you’ve to go through if you lose your luggage on an international travel and you are left in the lurch with absolutely nothing. Or, you get sick, or get in an accident. It’ll be a mess that you’d want to so badly get rid of and it’s going to cost you big bucks. But, if you plan ahead, you can make sure that you’ll be covered for these extra expenses.
Buy the international travel insurance, also health insurance if you don’t have one already and an international credit card. So, you’re not paying taxes two ways, and you don’t get charged extra international fees on your every transaction.
PLANNING YOUR ACCOMMODATION AND ENTERTAINMENT
If you know someone in the city you’re going to, you can check in with that friend and get an idea of how much the local transport costs, and how expensive are the hotels and restaurants and hostels. Which will be easier to pay from your bank and is the cheaper solution? If you can, get that friend to book in rooms, inns or BNBs for you. Or you can yourself book through an AirBnb, and perhaps make use of their ongoing sales or discounts. If you look around for hotels, maybe you can get in touch with the manager, and can ask for an exclusive discount for yourself. Accommodation is the second most expensive part of a travel plan, and you should plan ahead to get it right.
You’d also want to go on Google Maps and look around the city a bit, and look for the small restaurants and eateries and you can easily access the reviews and the menus of these places to get an idea of how much it’ll cost you. Same goes for entertainment.
Most of these museums, parks, and recreation places have websites now, and you can easily translate the website (if it’s not in your language with the help of Google translate) and get an idea of what they have to offer and how much they’re charging for what they have to offer.
ASK FOR HELP
If you’re a parent with young kids, don’t feel bad for asking relatives, friends and family to come in and look after them while you’re gone. If you have pets, make sure you get a house sitter who constantly airs the house, and feeds your pets and walks them, and spend some time with them in general.
Don’t forget to ask your neighbors to collect any pending deliveries or nails for you, and all the necessary to-do things you’ve inscribed on your list.
So, now you’ve got all the things covered, bon voyage!
